Midwives are caring for more and more mental health disorders by the day. Many midwives are battling professional burnout from all the increased demands from health care, clients, and regulations. I truly feel we are at a critical pathway in midwifery. Are we going to thrive and accel past all the growing demands and responsibilities midwives are being given? Or are we going to crash and plunder as a professional from hitting a breaking point?
Jenna Chambless, CNM, PMHNP, will be a doing a full day in person training to provide integrative medicine options for common mental health conditions our clients have and look to us for guidance on supporting. We will also spend part of the day doing some professional burnout healing and tips that ANYONE can bring back home to start implementing into their practices and daily routines. We will be doing some mental health expansion of our thought processes and look differently at ways to advocate for our family's expanding mental health challenges while still caring for our own sanity in the process. Too many midwives burnout and this tragedy needs to be stopped now if we want midwifery to flourish in the coming years!
