Amanda Wylie and Leslie Cornwell dive deep into all aspects of booking and accounting rules and regulations to support any birth worker starting and improving their business operations. Legal Defense Course

Legal defense is another critical area for midwives to understand. Anytime you care for moms and babies, we are at risk of being sued for care that has occurred now and up to 21 years in the future. Our course provides you with the knowledge and tools you need to defend yourself in legal situations that may arise in your practice. This course has over 15 hours of great content around ways midwives can protect themselves and their practices from lawsuits and litigation risks. We go deep into documentation, defusing patient complaints, collaboration, transfers, the scope of midwifery care, policies, and quality measures.

Essential oils are becoming increasingly popular as a complementary therapy for midwifery clients. This amazing course contains over 12 hours of content from videos, articles, and customized resources for midwifery and birth worker needs. Dr. Jen Shell, DC is an expert in alternative medicine and essential oil implementation into maternal and newborn health care services. We have created a course that focuses on all aspects of midwifery and birth provider care before, during, and after pregnancy for families.

Infectious Disease (Zika Virus Management)

Infectious disease is a concern for all healthcare providers, including midwives. Our course covers the basics of infectious disease control and prevention, including understanding the modes of transmission and implementing appropriate precautions.

In this course, you will learn Zika prevention strategies, assessment, and management of individuals who have Zika virus infection during pregnancy, including clinical evaluation and management of congenitally exposed and infected infants. We will cover important clinical and public health aspects of Zika virus disease, including the epidemiology, modes of transmission, clinical manifestations, approach to diagnosis, and strategies for prevention and control of Zika virus infection. This class is also intended to help clinicians evaluate babies born to mothers infected with the Zika virus.
